Address lookup
When address suggestions are on, the text you type is sent to Photon, a service using OpenStreetMap data. Submitting an address sends it to the U.S. Census Bureau. Where supported, matching also uses official district maps. City and town suggestions use a public place-name index without contacting the street-suggestion provider. You can turn suggestions off or browse by state without entering an address. We do not store addresses in an application database.
Optional analytics
When enabled and accepted, Google Analytics uses cookies to measure visits and generic events such as starting a lookup, receiving results, or opening support options. Our events do not include typed addresses, candidate names, political views, precincts, report selections, or the query string in your URL. We replace the page URL with this site’s home address and omit the referring page.
Google still receives technical information when its tag loads, such as your IP address and browser information. This is not anonymous browsing. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in our tag configuration. We respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track browser signals by not starting analytics. Declining analytics does not limit access to guides.
Your preference is saved in your browser’s local storage. If analytics is active, its cookies are configured to expire after 30 days. Disabling analytics removes the configured analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop the tag; it does not erase information already received by Google. Read Google’s privacy policy.
Hosting and external services
The hosting platform and external lookup providers may process technical request information, including IP addresses, under their own policies. Not storing addresses in our application database does not mean that no provider processes or logs requests. Source links take you to external websites with their own policies.
Support payments
Contributions are processed through Stripe-hosted checkout. This site does not collect or store card numbers. Stripe processes payment, billing and technical information under its own privacy policy. The amount and any monthly renewal terms are shown before you confirm. Our optional analytics records only a generic checkout-link click; it does not receive your contribution amount, payment details or identity. A checkout click is not treated as a completed contribution. Do not enter payment information into an address field. Read Stripe’s privacy policy.
